Pneumonitis induced by sulphasalazine.
We describe a 65-year-old woman with eosinophilic pneumonitis induced by sulphasalazine. Laboratory findings revealed peripheral eosinophilia. The chest X-ray showed bilateral infiltrations, which disappeared after sulphasalazine was discontinued.

We describe a case of severe sulphasalazine hepatotoxicity. The features described are those of an acute hypersensitivity reaction which responded to drug withdrawal alone as steroids were withheld. Supportive treatment only is recommended for this potentially fatal condition.
